Match Preview Pakistan versus Bangladesh

Chances for a Pakistan win because of dubious Bangladeshi bowling

Bangladesh and Pakistan are facing each other at a time which is equally crucial for both teams. Bangladesh having witnessed a year filled with letdowns is standing in the ground to prove itself. Pakistan, who is playing from home for the first time after the 2009 matches are also looking to progress smoothly upwards as the tests go on.

Pakistan won their last match in December against Sri Lanka with a long 263 runs. Exemplary bowling feats paired with excellent batting helped them to secure their win. As part of their bowling strategy, the duo Abbas and Shahid Afridi are the ones to bowl first, followed by the pace bowler Naseem.

Bangladesh on the other hand witnessed a losing streak in 2019 where they lost all 5 of their tests. Apparently, they are not well suited to batting legspins. And now they are up against a team of formidable pace bowlers, which only multiplies their chances of being conquered.

Nonetheless, the Bengalis are up to the challenge. Their winning counterpart; Tamim Iqbal has returned from a break and has already smashed a triple-hundred off-the-record in a previous match. Even if they are unaccompanied by Mushfiur Rahim on their tour, the Captain Mominul Haque is ready to make a winning statement. Liton Das and Najmul Hossain Shanto are also in the waiting to finally prove themselves.

Batting aside, the overall concern for the Bangladesh Team is their bowling. Ebadot Hossain has bowled inconsistently here and there while Rubel Hossain holds the worst record of the bowling average for bowling 3000 plus balls. They are both bound to be picked for the team. The bowling attack is left in the hands of Taijul Islam and Abu Jayed. They are earnest to make the right move and take a win back home.
